Leadership for new managers

COURSE OBJECTIVES          

Many people find themselves leading teams and wondering what the ‘magic ingredient’ is to make them work together effectively. Good leadership creates strong teams. This programme will help you develop leadership skills that you can in many different situations.

Leadership is not a process or a series of actions. It is a mindset and an attitude. Leadership is found in many places and in many people.

For someone who is in a job role where they have to lead a group of people to achieve targets for the organisation, they are now a leader and a manager. There are aspects where leadership and management occupy the same space but they are different types of skill.

On this programme you will learn what leadership is, why people need leadership, how to become a leader and how you will lead in your job role.

Module 4. How to develop your leadership qualities

  • Neuroscience
  • Building Trust

Module 5. Leadership styles

  • Transactional and transformational leadership
  • Situational leadership

Module 6. Leadership exercise

 

COURSE LENGTH - 1 day / 5 hours

TEACHING AND LEARNING METHODS

This course includes lectures, readings, assignments and exercises, quizzes and case studies. All presentations, course materials and supporting language will be presented in English.

All participants will be expected to actively engage in class discussions. You should come prepared to ask or answer questions from your work outside of class and be prepared to discuss related issues, other points of view, or even opposing ideas.

DELIVERY FORMAT

This course will be delivered online via Zoom or Microsoft Teams in 1 sessions of 5 hours per day. Audio-visual recording of presentation is strictly forbidden. Course materials cannot be purchased by non-attendees.
